This design was created with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lovely Lilac and a half-yard of black lace from Jo-Ann Fabrics. The key is to apply the lace while the nail polish is still wet, then once it dries seal it with a clear top coat.

This CVS display included 5 new shades for Valentine's Day and an “adorable” new spring pattern called Aflorable. So sweet! Now if only Sally Hansen would sweeten the price for these a bit—I think $9.99 is a little steep.

It's been a while since I've used my favorite nail art technique. I found it incredibly difficult to produce actual hearts so I settled for this more abstract design—at least I got the color scheme right! As usual I used YouTube as my training guide.

Admittedly my Valentine's Day picks have been a bit on the pricey side. This shimmery purple case is beautiful inside and out, and it's also reasonably priced. Originally $26, it's on sale at both beauty.com ($18.20) and urbandecay.com ($13).
This reusable canvas shopping bag is durable and washable. The adorable print is called hearts.

Dress up your iPhone for the holiday with this 3-piece silicone case. This comes in a variety of colors but the Pink shade looks like it was made for Valentine's Day.

My final Valentine's Day handbag pick is yet another classic design with a twist—the Snakeskin Clutch Bag in the shade Pink from zara.com. This is real leather and a steal at the clearance price of $39 (originally $99).
On sale at zappos.com—originally $245, now $132.99.
I'm so ready to trade up my handbag for this smoking hot Juicy tote. The style is Ms. Daydreamer and the shade name is Red Animal Print. Check it out on the Nordstrom website for a better look at the beautiful print and the hot pink lining!
$198 at juicycouture.com and nordstrom.com
As part of my "What's Hot for Valentine's Day" series I've chosen four beautiful handbags in four different price ranges.
First up, from the Coach Chelsea collection: the red patent leather Jayden Carryall. This will never go out of style—consider it an “investment” piece.
$378 at coach.com and macys.com
I would buy this just for the gorgeous packaging. But I also like the fragrance which has notes of mandarin, guava and musk. It's soft, pretty and romantic. It may be a little sweet for some people's taste, so definitely give this a test run before you put it on your wish list!
Feeling brokenhearted this Valentine's Day? Express yourself with one of these combinations. Top: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Firm Fig under OPI Black Shatter. Bottom: Revlon Flirt under OPI Red Blasted.
By the way, I'm still trying to figure out the difference between OPI's Sephora exclusive “Blasted” collection and their regular Shatters. The effect is identical as far as I can see.

This limited edition ruby shade from the 90210 collection has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It's a true Valentine's Day red with a touch of metallic shimmer.
I love the combination of lavender with shades of red and pink for Valentine's Day. At $48, this bra is definitely splurgeworthy!
Sephora's smouldering new eye shadow has a creamy consistency that applies evenly and wears (almost) as long as a cream or gel formula. My shade picks are Bronze Brilliance (left) and Burgundy Gem (below).
Here's an early look at what's new, hot and perfect for Valentine's day giving or wearing!
First up: Milani Lip Flash, a lip gloss/lipstick hybrid in the gorgeous shade Photo Flash, a fuschia with gold and fuschia shimmer. A steal at $6.49.

I took my favorite nail model Aryana for gel manicures yesterday. The salon we went to was using Gelish brand nail polish.
We both loved Aryana's results. She chose the hot pink shade Shake it Til You Samba with black zebra stripes.
I have mixed feelings about mine. I got pink (It's a Lily) layered under a blue glittery top coat (Izzy Wizzy, Let's Get Busy). I love the smooth, glass-like texture but I wish I had chosen darker shades since both colors looked darker in the bottle.
Now we'll see if they stand the test of time—gel nails are supposed to last for weeks without chipping.
